Residents and staff at Kings Court care home in Flaxley Lane, Middlebeck created a poppy display to celebrate Remembrance Day
A care home is displaying over 700 crocheted poppies ahead of Remembrance Day.
Residents at Kings Court in Flaxley Lane, Middlebeck together with members of the community crocheted the poppies.
Poppy packs with all the materials needed to crochet a poppy were offered to the community.
The residents and staff at Kings Court are to welcome members of the Royal British Legion today (November 10) for a special Remembrance Day service.
Resident Laura Newman, 91, said, “Remembering those who have fallen is a very special thing. I’m very happy with all of our poppies, I even helped to make some myself.”
Tarnya Fairburn, the home manager at Kings Court, said: “Our poppy display is truly a sight to behold.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who took the time to crochet a poppy, and we can’t wait to welcome our friends from the Royal British Legion.
“All are welcome to join us, just pop along at 14:00 to Kings Court. We’ll have the kettle on.”
