The one and only? Chesney Hawkes will be making a special appearance over the Bank Holiday Weekend — to meet a hawk of the same name.

The popstar will be stopping by at the grand re-opening of Go Active Falconry at White Post Farm, Farnsfield, on Monday.

Chesney will be joining the team in the afternoon for a flying display and to meet and greet fans.

Simon Stacey, co-owner of Go Active Falconry, said: “We are really excited.

“I want to make this day really special.

“Now a lot of the restrictions have been lifted, we want to shout about the falconry from the rooftops.”

Simon said that Chesney showed interest in the centre after he saw a video clip of one of their birds, who is also called Chesney, flying into a display to his most popular song, The One And Only.

Go Active Falconry was due to open in March last year, however, the opening was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic and successive lockdowns.

“The last 18 months have been a complete and utter struggle,” Simon said.

“Had we been locked down for a further few weeks, we would have had to start selling birds.”

The flying display will take place at 3pm on Monday, with Chesney due to arrive at approximately 1pm.
