Popular bookshop Waterstones set to open new store in Newark town centre
A new retailer is to open its doors in town this summer — bringing books, stationary, and more.
Branding has appeared on a Stodman Street shopfront in the last few days, advertising the arrival of popular chain bookstore Waterstones.
The literary retailer has now confirmed it plans to open its new store in town this summer, although an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
Lee Thompson, Waterstones retail manager, said: “We are delighted to announce that a new Waterstones bookshop will open in the beautiful market town of Newark this summer. Being part of a local community and sharing their love for the wonderful, exciting world of books are two of our booksellers' biggest passions.”
The new bookshop will occupy the unit at the junction of Stodman Street and Middlegate in the town, which was previously independent clothing store WiseGirls, and prior to that, Dorothy Perkins.
“Alongside the many wonderful children's, non-fiction and fiction books you would expect of a great bookshop, we will also be offering a fabulous selection of gifting, stationery and games. Our bookselling team cannot wait to welcome Newark's readers through the doors of the new shop,” Mr Thompson added.
