Newark Town Council has supported Strays request to supply alcohol at their new premisses at The Ossington, Beast Market Hill, Newark





A council has supported a popular café and bistro licensing request to supply alcohol until later hours.

Strays which will be expanding by moving into new premises in The Ossington, on Beastmarket Hill has submitted a licence application for late night refreshment, supply of alcohol and opening hours.

The business, which has been a staple of Newark Town Centre since it opened its doors in 2003, will celebrate their 20th anniversary in December, with plans to be up and running at The Ossington in the new year.

The applicant Crantock Trading Limited requested for the business to be open Monday to Sunday from 7.30am to 12.30am and 7.30am to 1.30am the following morning on New Year's Eve.

It has been requested to supply alcohol seven days a week from 10am to 12am and from 10am to 1am on New Year’s Eve morning.

Late night refreshments from Monday to Sunday from 11pm to 12.30am and 11pm to 1.30am on New Year’s Eve morning have also been requested.

Newark Town Council planning committee supported the application as they agreed that compared to other places in the town those are reasonable hours.

A final decision will be made by Newark and Sherwood District Council licensing committee.
