Cardzone on Middlegate, Newark to close for rebranding as it is reopen as a Clinton’s

A shop in Newark’s High Street is set to close for refurbishment as it is rebranding as a popular cards and gift shop.

Cardzone, on Middlegate, will close from November 15 to November 18 while work takes place to transform the store into Clintons.

Clintons, a well-known national retailer specialising in cards, gifts and wrapping, is a sister brand of Cardzone.

The shop is said to reopen under the new name on November 19.

In July this year, posters appeared in the shop’s windows announcing “Store Closing – Everything Must Go – 20% Off”.

At the time, store staff said that trade in the town would cease in November; however, it has since been confirmed that the shop will instead continue under the Clintons brand.

Several years ago, Newark had two Clinton’s stores, both of which later closed.

The rebranding means the name will once again return to the town centre.

Cardzone and Clintons have been approached for a comment.
