Men arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after incident at Collingham Post Office
Three men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Post Office this morning.
Staff were threatened with weapons including a knife at the Post Office in High Street, Collingham, at around 10.40am today (Thursday, January 2).
Detective Inspector Stuart Temple, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Officers were on the scene within minutes of the initial call to help the victims and witnesses.
"Three suspects were located in Newark a short time later and have been arrested.
"Officers will continue speaking to witnesses as they establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward as soon as possible."
Jordan Lee, of JD Nicholson & Son, a butchers next door to the Post Office, said the incident was not something that will worry other local shop staff.
"We didn't hear anything when it happened," he said. "But it is not something you expect to happen around here and it isn't something that we are going to be worried about."
