Rev Christopher Pearse has been licensed as priest-in-charge of the parishes of Farnsfield, Kirklington with Hockerton, Maplebeck and Winkburn
The Rev Christopher Pearse has been licensed by the Bishop of Southwell, the Rt Rev Paul Williams as priest-in-charge of the parishes of Farnsfield, Kirklington with Hockerton, Maplebeck and Winkburn.
The service took place at St Michael and All Angels, Farnsfield.
Bishop Paul said: “I’m delighted that we were able to appoint a new priest for these parishes who have a real desire to grow, especially reaching out to children and younger families in such vibrant and expanding communities.”
Mr Pearse grew up in York and though faith had always been part of his life it was during his teenage years, while attending St Michael-le-Belfry, that he really began to own his faith and experience the power and love of God for himself.
Chris said: “We are really looking forward to working with the churches and the local primary school as we seek to follow God’s lead together and look to establish some exciting, new worshipping communities in the months ahead.”
