A pub is believed to be the first in the UK to become carbon neutral through a host of environmentally-friendly measures.

The owners of the Waggon and Horses, Halam, are now urging other businesses to follow their example.

Mr and Mrs Roy Wood have reduced the pub's carbon emissions over two years through measures including recycling as much as possible and reducing the amount of energy it uses.

They teamed up with The Carbon Neutral Company to offset the remaining 163 tonnes of carbon dioxide by investing in a project that captures coal mine methane in the northwestern province of Lianing, China.
