Nottinghamshire Police asks the public not to post speculations about Jamie Poole, who went missing from the Newark area

Police are asking the public not to speculate or post potentially insensitive information online regarding a missing 36-year-old father.

An investigation is currently underway following the disappearance of Jamie Poole, who was reported missing from the Newark area a week ago (October 28).

Jamie was last seen leaving his house on Middleton Road, Newark, at 5.07pm to go for his daily walk, which often takes around 40 minutes to an hour.

He was spotted on CCTV walking on Alexander Avenue at 5.31pm and then on Fleming Drive at 5.33pm.

He was last seen on CCTV footage around 7pm, walking towards the River Trent.

Despite ongoing searches by Nottinghamshire Police, friends and family, Jamie has not yet been located.

Nottinghamshire Police detectives have been tracing his movements from that evening, and specialist police dive teams have been carrying out daily searches of the River Trent.

Officially trained volunteers have also been assisting along the riverbanks, but so far without success.

Nottinghamshire Police are asking the public not to post speculation or potentially insensitive information online about Jamie’s whereabouts.

A spokesman said: “Sharing unverified details could cause significant distress to Jamie’s family during this extremely difficult time.

“Instead, anyone with information should report it through official channels, so it can be investigated thoroughly.”

Jamie is described as white, 6 feet 2 inches tall, with short dark brown/black hair and was wearing a dark red burgundy Superdry jacket.

He was also wearing black or blue Adidas jogging bottoms with black Nike trainers.

People can contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 660 of 28 October 2025. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
