Public invited to quiz regional leaders, including Mayor Claire Ward, on future of East Midlands

Residents have been invited to ask the Mayor of the East Midlands questions about the future of the region.

Questions can be put to Mayor Claire Ward and other members of East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) board at their next meeting, on Monday, September 16.

The agenda for the EMCCA board meeting will include a slot to answer questions from the public submitted in writing to EMCCA’s governance team.

Residents able to attend the meeting, which will take place at Derby City Council, can also ask their question directly to the board.

Mayor Claire said: “We will be making decisions that will have an impact on the lives of everyone in the region, so it’s important that we’re as open and transparent as we can be.

“As well as livestreaming meetings and publishing the full agenda and reports on our website we want as many people as possible to get involved in our work.

“We’re keen to hear from residents with a question about the way we work, the decisions we make and our future priorities.”

Notice must be given and the question text provided to governance services via governance@eastmidsdevo.org.uk no later than 5pm on Monday, September 9, to be included.

Residents will also need to include the name and address of the questioner and the name of the board member they’d like to answer their question.

Those who can’t attend the meeting will receive a written answer to their question.

The board meeting starts at 11am and the full agenda for the meeting will be available on the EMCCA’s website on Friday, September 6.
