Magnus Church of England Academy performed its Christmas Carol Concert

Pupils brought seasonal cheer to friends and family with their two Christmas carol concerts.

Magnus Church of England Academy performers included Magnus Musicians, the year seven cohort choir and the Magnus Academy voices group, the last one consisting of senior vocalists at the academy.

Individual students gave readings, and the Magnus Swing Band performed pieces including a rendition of Beauty and The Beast.

Jackie Thacker, the leader of Youth and Community Music at Magnus said: “It was a wonderful event rich in music and worship, shared with our academy students and their families.

“I am so proud of all our talented students who took part, they are an absolute credit to Magnus.”

Anna Martin, Magnus C of E Academy headteacher said: “This year’s carol service headed up by our year seven’s performance showed enthusiasm and confidence and certainly inspired the festive spirit in everyone gathered.

“We are incredibly proud of not only how everyone performed, but of the wonderful young people they are.

“They have a bright and exciting future ahead of them in our wonderful school.

“I would like to extend our thanks to families who supported the event, and to the students, fantastic musicians, and senior vocalists, who made this such a magical Carol Concert.”
