Flintham Primary School donates £434 to Drone to Home charity

Primary school pupils raised over £400 to donate to animal charity.

Year 5 and 6 pupils at Flintham Primary School organised a fundraiser for Drone to Home in June.

The school community raised £434 which was presented to the charity team when they visited the school to demonstrate what they do.

The children learnt what the drones are used for and what the charity — Drone to Home — has to do from receiving a phone call about a missing pet to reuniting it with its owner.

The process of lost and found includes using the drone to find the pet in dense undergrowth to clamber through thick woodlands and bogs to help locate the pet.

After the visit, the children said: “Drone to Home is amazing because they save pets and bring them home.

“They find more animals than just dogs, such as tortoises and they named the drones after the pets they have found.”
