A quarry near Newark is playing its part in an attempt to launch another rover to Mars.

It was discovered that minerals found on the Red Planet in a 2004 NASA expedition match those unearthed at Bantycock gypsum quarry.

As a result, Dr Louisa Preston, UK Space Agency Aurora Research Fellow and member of the Department of Earth Sciences at the Natural History Museum, has been brought in to collect samples.
