Traffic delays affecting A1, A46 and roads around Newark town centre
There is slow and stop-start traffic on major roads and in Newark town centre.
Delays of up to ten minutes are reported on the A1 near Newark, stretching from Fernwood to South Muskham on the northbound carriageway.
Traffic may be affected due to knock-on effects of a stalled caravan on the A1 northbound near A46, at around midday.
The southbound carriageway is affected on the approach to the Winthorpe interchange slip road.
Severe delays are reported on the A46 northbound on the approach to Farndon roundabout and between Farndon roundabout and Cattle Market roundabout, with an average speed of five mph.
The southbound carriageway is experiencing some delays between Winthorpe and Farndon roundbout.
There are also delays on the westbound A17 between Drove Lane and the A1.
In the town centre stop-start traffic is particularly affecting nearly all main town centre roads, including Lombard Street, Castlegate, Victoria Street, Beacon Hill Road, Queens Road and Northgate.
Kelham Road A617, and Great North Road are also congested on the approach to Cattle Market roundabout.
