Rabbits led to court appearance

A woman who had a rabbit at home in breach of a disqualification from keeping animals has received a suspended prison sentence.

Jenny Hughes, 26, of College Close, Newark, who pleaded guilty at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, was jailed for four weeks, suspended for six months.

The length of a previous suspended prison sentence was increased to 14 months.

Hughes was told to pay £115 costs.
