Renewable Energy Solutions (RES) to consult Thoroton and Hawksworth residents on plans for solar farm
The world's largest independent renewable energy company is exploring plans for a solar farm.
Renewable Energy Solutions (RES) wants to consult residents of two villages on the potential for the large-scale project.
RES is looking to build Longhedge Solar Farm between Thoroton and Hawksworth, and is keen to engage with the local community by holding public exhibitions as part of its pre-application process.
In a paper advert, RES said: "We are holding public exhibitions in the local area to enable people to find out more about the proposal and provide us with their views.
"RES staff will be on hand to answer any questions or queries, and comment forms will be available to gather feedback."
The exhibitions are taking place at St Helena's Church, Thoroton, on April 20, and at Hawksworth Community Hall on April 21, both from 2pm to 7pm.
These will initiate a consultation period being run by RES to gather comments on the proposal. The closing date for comments is May 6. Comments will still be accepted after this date but may not be considered in relation to the design development.
Comments should be provided in writing by either filling out a comment form at one of the exhibitions or online, or by writing to RES, Beaufort Court, Egg Farm Lane, Kings Langley, Herts, WD4 8LR.
The comments submitted are not representations to the determining authority (Rushcliffe Borough Council). There will be an opportunity to submit representatives to the authority should an application be made.
