Results of by-elections in Newark and Sherwood announced

The results of yesterday's (Thursday) by-elections in Newark and Sherwood have been announced.

Two seats in the Bridge Ward of Newark and Sherwood District Council were up for grabs, as well as one on the Devon Ward of Newark Town Council.

It followed the resignations of district councillors Irene Brown and Gill Dawn and town councillor Dennis Jones.

Both of the Conservative Party, Jack Logan Kellas and Simon Edward Haynes were elected as representatives of the district council Bridge Ward.

For the town council Devon Ward, Conservative Steven John Vickers was also elected.
