Rebel Base on Victoria Street, Newark is hosting a Star Wars themed Coronation party

A new shop is hosting a coronation party with a Star Wars theme tomorrow.

Rebel Base, on Victoria Street, Newark, offers a tattoo studio, nail salon and café under one roof.

The Revenge of the Sixth – hosted by owners Mickey Buff and Stuart Bell – will take place tomorrow (Saturday, May 6) from noon to 10pm.

The Star Wars fan couple decided to celebrate two in one, as the famous Star Wars phrase’ may the force be with you’ was celebrated on Thursday, May 4 and the closest Saturday to the date was King Charles’ coronation.

Mickey Buff said: “We can't be named Rebel Base without celebrating Star Wars day! It happens to fall on the coronation day so Stuart will be in fancy dress as the king and I'll be dressed as Princess Leia.

The shop was granted temporary permission to sell alcohol for the day.

Mickey will be doing original Star Wars themed cocktails for the price of £6 or two for £10 and “some special nerdy beers”, the owner said.

The event is free and welcomes everyone, however after 6pm it is restricted to people over 18.

“Come to the Dark Side, we have free cookies,” added Mickey.
