Main Road, Radcliffe, closed by Nottinghamshire Police after small gas fire under road causes paving slabs to lift
A road has been closed after a small gas fire under it caused paving slabs to lift.
Emergency services were called to Main Road, Radcliffe, outside the Co-op at around 8.35am today (Monday).
The gas fire caused paving slabs to lift up from the road that has now been closed while emergency repairs are carried out.
No injuries have been reported and no-one has had to be evacuated.
Inspector John Lees, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "I'd like to thank people for their co-operation while this incident is safely dealt with.
"The road has been closed for public safety and there is no threat to the local community."
