Whinney Lane in Ollerton closed by Nottinghamshire County Council after sinkhole carriageway collapse, being investigated by Via East Midlands and Severn Trent Water





A road is now closed after a sinkhole opened up in a town.

Whinney Lane in Ollerton will remain closed, until at least February 6 at the earliest, due to a collapse in the carriageway.

The closure affects a stretch of the road between junctions with Fir View and Alder Grove, close to the Dukeries Library and complex.

Via East Midlands and Severn Trent Water are currently investigating the cause of the collapse and will provide further updates once more is known

In the meantime Nottinghamshire County Council has asked that residents and road users take alternative routes.

A diversion is in place from Whinney Lane via Walesby Lane, Lime Tree Road, Church Circle, Larch Road, Forest Road, back onto Whinney Lane and vice versa.
