Closure of A607 in Normanton on Cliffe to be lifted over weekend

A road closure is set to be lifted for the weekend to help with local events.

Lincolnshire County Council closed A607 (Main Street) in Normanton on Cliffe from October 30 for improvement works between Heath Lane and Grange Farm, Normanton.

Due to LCC crews being in a suitable position with the drainage and footpath improvement works being undertaken, and to assist with events going on in the local area, the road closure will be lifted from tomorrow evening (Friday) until Sunday.

The road closure on the A607 Main Street will then be back in place for Monday morning, November 13.

Councillor Richard Davies, executive member for highways at LCC said: “We are very pleased to be able to help out in this way for those visiting the area during the local events that are happening.

“Our crew has been working extremely hard in order to be able to get to a point where we can lift the road closure for the weekend.

“I would remind everyone who uses the road that the closure will be back in place on Monday morning so that we can continue with the improvement works for the area, as planned.”

The Stagecoach bus route (No. 1) Lincoln-to-Grantham will also be able to run its usual timetable and normal route on Saturday and Sunday across the coming weekend. See the LincsBus website for further details.

The improvement works have a planned end date of Friday, December 1 subject to suitable weather.
