NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that

Highways England Company Limited

(Company No. 9346363) has made an order

on the A1 Trunk Road, between Newark

and Carlton-on-Trent in the County of

Nottinghamshire, to allow drainage and

maintenance works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to –

1. close –

a) any slip road leading to or from the

northbound carriageway of the A1

between its junction with the exit slip

road leading to its roundabout junction

with the A46 at Newark and its junction

with the entry slip road leading from the

B1164 at Carlton-on-Trent; and

b) any slip road leading to or from the

southbound carriageway of the A1

between its junction with the exit slip

road leading to its junction with the

B1164 at Carlton-on-Trent, and its

junction with the entry slip road leading

from its roundabout junction with the

A17 and the A46 near Newark;

c) any layby located adjacent to the

lengths of trunk road described in a)

and b) above;

2. prohibit any vehicle from entering or

proceeding through any gap in the central

reservation of the lengths of trunk road

described in 1. a) and b) above; and

3. prohibit any vehicle from entering or leaving

the lengths of trunk road described in 1.a) and

b) above at its junction with any side road.

The work will be carried out overnight between

20:00 hours and 05:00 hours and is expected

to start on Monday 23 April 2018 and continue

for 3 weeks. The layby closures will be in

operation between 14:00 hours and 05:00

hours per day and are expected to start on

Monday 23 April 2018. The Order will come

into force on 20 April 2018.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue

authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles

being used in connection with the works will

be exempt from the closures and prohibitions.

Access to properties will be maintained at

all times.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of

the A1 will be signed.
