ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (NEWARK-ON-TRENT, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
Highways England Company Limited
(Company No. 9346363) has made an order on
the A1 Trunk Road at Newark-on-Trent, in the
County of Nottinghamshire, to allow vegetation
clearance and technical survey works to be
carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close,
at different times, –
a) the slip road leading from the northbound
carriageway of the A1 to its roundabout
junction with the A46 and the B6166 Lincoln
Road (known as Brownhills Roundabout);
b) the slip road leading from the southbound
carriageway of the A1 to its roundabout
junction with the A46 and the A17 (known
as Friendly Farmer Roundabout);
c) the layby situated adjacent to the
southbound carriageway of the A1
approximately 1600 metres north of the
centreline of the A46 overbridge; and
d) the layby situated adjacent to the
northbound carriageway of the A1
approximately 580 metres south of the
centreline of the A46 overbridge.
The work will be carried out overnight between
20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected
to start on Monday 7 May 2018 and continue
for eight nights. The layby closures will be in
operation from 06:00 hours on Monday
7 May 2018 and continue for 24 hours per day
for the duration of the works. The Order will
come into force on 30 April 2018.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue
authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles
being used in connection with the works
will be exempt from the closures. Access to
properties will be maintained at all times.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the
A1 will be signed.
