Protest group the White Feather Project to send Newark MP Robert Jenrick among others a white feather in the post to symbolise 'cowardice'
A protest group is to send a number of MPs including Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick a white feather in the post.
The white feather symbolised cowardice during the first world war.
The White Feather Project has adapted the gesture as a means of 'through peaceful means, intending to hold all of them (MPs) to account for their cowardice.'
It alleges the MPs have refused to defend the UK from the 'continued and malign interference of a foreign power.'
It goes on: "More than that, their acceptance of donations from former Russian nationals who have 'purchased' British citizenship marks them as actively complicit in the harm being inflicted on our democracy.
"We request that our elected representatives speak out about foreign interference in our democracy and take a stand against the government’s ongoing attacks on our democratic safeguards."
Robert Jenrick's office has repeatedly been contacted for a response but has failed to acknowledge each time.
