Coronavirus: Communities and Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick expresses sympathies to those who have died after testing positive for covid-19
Communities and Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick expressed his profound sympathies to the relatives of the more than 30,000 people who have died after testing positive for coronavirus, of which more than 100 have been in King’s Mill Hospital.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of everyone who has been unwell and particularly with those who have lost loved ones,” he said.
“Too many people have died behind the statistics I have had to read out. I know it is a heartbreaking tragedy for families across the country and particularly in our own area.
“I would also like to give my thanks to everyone in the NHS, those at Newark Hospital and King’s Mill and in care homes who have been the real heroes in this crisis.
“One of the frustrations is not being able to do what you would normally do which is to personally thank the people on the front line, including hospices like Beaumond House.
“As soon as it is safe to do so I will be going to them and thanking them.”
