Newark MP Robert Jenrick to stay on as Housing, Communities and Local Government secretary following Boris Johnson's Cabinet reshuffle
Newark MP Robert Jenrick has maintained his role in Parliament following the Prime Minister's re-shuffle today (Thursday).
Mr Jenrick is to stay on in his role as the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
He was appointed to the role when Boris Johnson was elected as Prime Minister in July 2019, stepping up from his prior role Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury.
Some of the big names to have lost their job today in Mr Johnson's Cabinet re-shuffle include chancellor Sajid Javid, who has resigned and Rishi Sunak has been appointed his replacement.
Esther McVey and Andrea Leadsom both lose their jobs as Ministers of State for Housing and Planning and Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy respectively.
Duchy of Lancaster Michael Gove will remain in his role, as will Liz Truss, Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade.
