Coronavirus cases in Newark and Sherwood reach 7,462 today (Sunday, June 6) according to Public Health England




Eleven new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Ashfield 9,734 (up 1) Bassetlaw 8,281 (down 1) Broxtowe 7,252 (up 4) Gedling 8,336 (up 8) Mansfield 8,380 (up 3) Newark and Sherwood 7,462 (up 11) Rushcliffe 6,968 (up 7) Nottingham City 31,225 (up 24) Nottinghamshire 56,413 (up 33).

In the last seven days there have been 27 positive cases recorded in Newark and Sherwood, which represents a slight decrease.

Public Health England has changed to the way coronavirus cases are reported.

Cases identified through a positive rapid lateral flow test will be removed for people who took polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests within three days that were all negative.

In the latest 24-hour period, no new deaths were reported in Newark and Sherwood within 28 days of the person testing positive for the virus. The total remains at 208.

According to the latest public data, 4,511,669 patients in the UK have tested positive and 127,836 people have died within 28 days of positive test.

The number of people vaccinated with the first dose up to June 4 is 40,124,229 and the total for the second dose is 27,160,635.
