Safety first

At a meeting convened by the MP for Newark and Bingham, Mr Patrick Mercer, on Friday, the main topic was the convenience and safety of people using the Newark to Elton road.

A video presentation graphically showed that the s-bend at Kilvington is unsuitable for heavy vehicles, and that improvement is needed.

Another thing the highways authority should consider is the imposition of a No Parking order in Alverton village where a hooligan element sometimes deliberately obstructs the public highway.
