Chuter Ede Primary School children gifted hi-vis vests by Barret Wilson Homes to stay safe on roads
School children have been gifted 35 hi-vis vests to help ensure they remain visible and safe during their winter journeys to and from school.
Pupils at Chuter Ede Primary School received the donations from developer David Wilson Homes this winter, when visibility on the roads is at its lowest.
The vests will help children to stand out to drivers and other road users, particularly during early morning and late afternoon commutes when the day is a little darker.
Chuter Ede Primary School is located close to the Fernwood estate, which the homebuilder helped to build and the donations of vests form part of their commitment to promoting community safety.
School head, Rachel Revill, said: “We were thrilled to accept the donation of hi-vis vests from David Wilson Homes, and our pupils will look forward to using them throughout the rest of the term and throughout.”
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “It’s more important than ever to ensure children are visible on their way to school.
“We’re proud to donate these hi-vis vests to Chuter Ede Primary School and support its pupils’ safety throughout the winter months.”
