The Minster School, Southwell, set for Co-op cash boost after it was chosen as one of three local causes
A school is set for a cash boost from the Co-op as a fundraising campaign nears its end.
The Minster School, Southwell, has received 1% of all Co-op branded products since October after it was chosen as one of its local causes.
For eight weeks customers can pick the school, among other causes, as their favourite when donating — regardless of which store they shop in.
Nearly £3,000 has been raised so far, all of which will be spent on the school's pupils.
Angela Zannetou, the school’s assistant head, said: “We were thrilled that Co-op selected the Minster School as one of its three community causes this year.
“We know we are fortunate as a secondary academy with a junior school to have a Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) with a group of fantastic parents, whose objective through their fundraising is to fully support the positive experiences of our students, through the projects they take on board.
“Our current project is an IT programme to enable pupils to learn remotely which, during the covid-19 lockdown, has proven to be an invaluable resource and will continue to be into the future.
“There is still time to help us invest more — we’re asking the community to choose our cause on the Co-op membership page.”
To donate to the Minster School as a cause, you will need to join the Co-op as a member at www.coop.co.uk/membership
In doing so, members will benefit by earning 5% cashback on all Co-op purchases that you can spend in-store at any time. They will also receive exclusive offers.
