Lover’s Lane Primary School, Newark, collect donations for Newark Foodbank through its harvest festival
A primary school sought donations for Newark Foodbank through its harvest festival.
The parent teacher association at Lover’s Lane Primary School, Newark, asked children and their families to take the donations to the YMCA Community and Activity Village for distribution to the foodbank.
School office manager Sharon Preston said: “Due to covid restrictions we could not have our usual harvest celebrations and asked for a voluntary donation of one or more items of cereal, jam, marmalade, dried pasta, rice, sauces in jars, tinned fish, tinned vegetables, tinned meat, tinned fruit and biscuits.
“It was a non-school uniform day and children were able to wear rainbow colours.
“Lover’s Lane Primary would like to say a huge thank you to all our families for the donations received.
“The school was overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness shown at these difficult times.”
