MITRE Trust schools create music video ‘I Wish’ to song composed by Southwell Minster School student in support of Save the Children

Pupils from a trust’s primary schools have come together to create a music video, which is raising vital funds for charity.

The video, titled ‘I Wish’, was created by pupils from Minster Trust for Education (MITRE) schools, and was premiered at its first whole-trust event held recently at Southwell Minster.

Pupils learnt the song, composed by a talented year 12 student from The Minster School, Esme Taylor, and filmed their performances which were then edited into a complete music video.

The video is available to download from from the MITRE website at: www.mitretrust.org.uk/i-wish, in aid of Save the Children.

Alongside the video premiere, the concert saw more than 200 year one to year 12 pupils from ten MITRE schools across the region meet to perform together to an audience of family and friends, in a culmination of musical projects across the term.

There were performances by individual schools and also collectively as a trust, as the students joined together in a joy-filled musical evening — which was a real celebration of children and young people making music together in the beautiful Minster surroundings.

The songs chosen for the concert were connected through the theme of ‘Togetherness’, to reflect the MITRE mission.

Matthew Parris, chief executive of MITRE said: “At Minster Trust for Education our mission is that ‘Together we help every child to flourish, opening doors to fulfilling futures’.
