Newark schools showcase surfboard art Newark Town Hall, Buttermarket, display organised by Newark and Sherwood District Council

Schools from around Newark have helped to cheer up the town centre with a fun new art display.

The Newark Town Hall colonnades, leading through to the Buttermarket, have been transformed into a colourful and fun art display.

Each column has been cased with a mock beach hut and dozen of imaginative and brightly decorated surfboards attached.

The designs have been inspired by the ocean, animals and the environment.

Running alongside the Newark on Sea beach in the Market Place, this seaside-themed display is available to visit until Monday, August 19.

It is free to enter any time from 9am to 4pm each day.
