Heartbreak continues in search for cats missing from Newark
The owner of a charity has urged people to help in the search for two cats missing from Newark.
Lisa Dean runs Beauty's Legacy— an organisation that has successfully re-united hundreds of lost pets with their owners.
She is now asking for support in her search for Luna and Fluffy, two cats who disappeared from their homes on Middlebeck last year.
Both cats are microchipped, neutered and are said to have never gone missing before.
Lisa believes that Luna and Fluffy have been stolen and wants to make people aware that pet theft is just as common with cats as it is dogs.
"Everyone focuses on dogs but it's cats that get stolen as well," Lisa said. "It's horrific, Luna and Fluffy definitely didn't just wonder off."
Luna is described to be a small, timid calico cat who was last seen wearing a pink collar.
Fluffy is a nine year-old male who has flecks of brown in his coat in the summer and a very bushy tail.
Lisa started Beauty's Legacy after her own cat, Beauty, went missing.
"It resonates with me because Beauty was my cat and she got stolen," Lisa said.
Despite being returned to Lisa a short time later, Beauty died from illnesses caused by the treatment she received when she was taken.
"It kind of opened my eyes to pet theft," said Lisa.
A £500 reward has been offered to anyone who can return Luna and Fluffy to their owners.
