A1 near Newark closed by police between North Muskham and Cromwell

A section of the A1 has been closed in both directions due to a police incident.

The A1 Northbound carriageway is closed from North Muskham, with traffic queuing back past the Winthorpe Interchange exit for Newark.

The Southbound carriageway is closed north of Cromwell, near Carlton-on-Trent, with traffic backed up past Sutton-on-Trent.

Nottinghamshire are at the scene, controlling the road closure.
