Reader's letter: Seeking cells
What a fitting idea to bring back some of our historical artefacts to the town centre and fully open up the Town Hall and Buttermarket as a museum.
Surely one of the most interesting and fascinating aspects of the Buttermarket are the old prison cells, but the article in the Advertiser, surprisingly, made no mention of them at all, even when the article went on to mention devising an exhibition on crime and punishment.
Perhaps the cells don’t really exist and I have imagined seeing them? Very odd. — ANNI KEENE, Newark.
