Seven-year-old to cycle 50 miles in Norfolk to raise money for John Blow Primary School, Collingham
A seven-year-old boy is planning to cycle seven times his age in miles to raise money for his school.
Toby Ellison will be joining cycling group, the Fatbashers on their annual Norfolk tour in May in his quest to raise money for John Blow Primary School, Collingham.
The Collingham and district area group was founded several years ago as a social sporting group and Toby’s grandfather Antony was a founding member.
Toby recently joined his grandfather who he calls Papa and his great uncle Jonathan on a cycling day.
That inspired him to join in on the cycling tour in Norfolk, where he will join in for 50 miles of the scheduled 150-mile three-day trip.
Toby has been enthusiastically training since Christmas and has so far cycled over 250 miles in training.
He has chosen to raise money for Friends of John Blow, which supports the school he attends and where his little sister, Charlotte, will attend later in the year.
Toby's mother, Emily, said that the school charity was important to Toby as he loves school and is keen to raise money for investment in new sports equipment.
His mother and father, Simon, said they were very proud of Toby’s determination.
They added that it was not an easy task for a boy who has recently turned seven.

Toby’s parents said he has inspired some of his friends and so far he has raised £1,100.
