Sherwood MP Mark Spencer remains Chief Whip after Newark MP sacked from Housing Secretary role




Sherwood MP Mark Spencer has retained his Cabinet as Chief Whip.

Mr Spencer seemed confident heading into No 10 Downing Street not long ago.

The Prime Minister's official Twitter account made the announcement after Newark MP Robert Jenrick was sacked from his top-of-the-table role as Secretary of State for Housing, Communtieies and Local Government.

Mr Jenrick has been replaced by Michael Gove.

He has not been offered another Cabinet role.
