Siblings of Newark toddler Louisiana-Brooke Dolan who died in Ingoldmells caravan fire can enjoy a holiday as fundraiser goal reached
The siblings of a toddler who tragically died in a caravan fire will be able to enjoy a holiday after a fundraiser more than doubled its goal.
The White Swan pub on Northgate, Newark, hosted the event on Friday with live music, a raffle, name the bear and a football shirt auction to raise holiday funds for the brothers and sister of Louisiana-Brooke Dolan.
The two-year-old girl died in the fire while on a break in Ingoldmells in August last year.
Pub landlady Debbie Thompson said she felt compelled to do something for Louisiana’s siblings — sister Lexus-Louise, 11, and brothers Timothy-John, 10, and James-Dean, 4.
“What happened to Louisiana-Brooke was awful,” said Debbie. “Her siblings have been through so much.
“I want them to be able to enjoy a holiday again after losing their sister, somewhere abroad where they can have fun and forget about everything for a while.”
Debbie said the event was a huge success, with people popping in and out for drinks throughout the evening and donating what they could.
The fundraiser smashed its target of £1,000, with a total of £2,150 being raised.
Natasha Broadley, mum of Louisiana-Brooke, said: “The love and support is amazing.”
Grandmother Donna Broadley and her partner Gary have thanked the White Swan for its help in exceeding the fundraising goal.
"Thank you for all the hard work and support that has made it possible for my grandchildren to enjoy a special holiday of their choice," said Donna.
"It was an amazing success and thank you to everyone who donated to this event. It's been a very hard five months and this holiday has certainly put a smile on their faces.
"Lexus loved the fundraiser doing bingo and playing games."
