Sister of patient involved in Smith Street collision in Balderton speaks out
The sister of one of the patients who was taken to hospital after a collision on Smith Street has asked motorists to take care on the road.
Sasha Geal, of Newark, revealed her brother — who was one of the two patients involved in the collision in Balderton earlier today — was in hospital undergoing an x-ray.
She wanted to emphasize that nobody was at fault for the collision.
"It was nobody’s fault and my brother was not weaving in and out of traffic or speeding," claimed Sasha.
"My brother was one of the children [involved] and he was knocked off his bike at a junction by a young lady who was almost at a standstill — [it was a] miscommunication between the children and the driver.
"I understand some people are blaming the children, but after a family road accident a few years ago, my whole family, including my brother, are very careful with roads.
"So, as stated, it was road miscommunication and it was no one's fault."
Inspector Charlotte Allardice, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Two cyclists were taken to hospital following reports of two collisions in Smith Street, Balderton, at around 8.30am this morning (September 30).
“Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life altering.
“Enquires into the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 129 of September 30, 2021.”
