Sites search stays secret

Consultation with the public about a possible new health centre for Bingham will take place only when all locations have been reviewed.

The Local Improvement Finance Trust, a partner in the health centre project, confirmed sites in the town were being considered — but no location could yet be discussed in detail.

One of the sites thought to be under consideration is Warner’s Paddock, an area of green open space on the corner of Long Acre and Grantham Road.

A campaign to preserve it, organised by Mr Gary Porter,is already under way.

Mr Porter approached Lift, asking for confirmation that the site was being looked at.

In his reply, Mr Peter Jones, the general manager, said: “Greater Nottingham Lift is currently conducting a review of all appropriate locations for a new health centre in Bingham.

“I’m sure you’ll understand that it would be inappropriate for us to comment upon any particular location until that review is complete.

“Once it is complete, we will discuss our findings with the appropriate parties and follow the relevant approval and consultation processes, including consultation with the public, to ensure all views and opinions are aired and considered before a final decision is made.”
