Advertiser Readers’ Letters: Small houses are key

I 100% agree with the comment on building small scale housing (Could Tiny Home Communities Be The Future? Advertiser, February 27).

This would help with the lack of land available for building.

The properties would need to be placed into the rented social housing sector with a lower rent setting to accommodate the people who are most in need of a roof over their heads.

At the moment the Government is pushing so-called “affordable housing”. To me, a million pound house is affordable to a millionaire so this title is a joke.

We are now reaching a point where the sale of market mortgaged properties is slowing down.

This will result in many of these sites not being viable, leaving an excess of unsold properties.

Small cheap to build housing units placed in the rented social housing sector is the only way to solve the present crisis. — Mike Frettsome, social housing tenant, via email.
