Newark and Sherwood District Council receives plans for solar farm that could power over 16,000 homes a year

Plans have been submitted for a solar farm that could power 16,200 homes a year.

The application is for 76 hectares of agricultural land at Knapthorpe Lodge, Caunton.

A statement from professional planners, written in support of the application, says there is an explicit need for the deployment of solar farms and other renewable energy generation, driven by a plethora of government legislation at both a local and national level in the UK.
