Southwell boy, 3, finds human skull near Anglo Saxon burial ground and Roman villa off Church Street
Police were called after a three-year-old boy discovered the ancient remains of what is believed to be a human skull in Southwell.
The remains were discovered by Charlie Ryan-Williams, who was walking with his father, Jack, on a path off Church Street at around 10am on Thursday, May 14.
Preliminary investigations suggest the skull fragments, found near the site of an ancient Anglo Saxon burial ground and Roman villa, are likely to be human.
