Speeding drivers among latest cases at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court
A motorist who drove at more than 20mph over the speed limit has been fined.
Holly Brown, 23, of Main Street, Foston, drove at 66mph on the 40mph limited Daleside Road, Colwick.
She appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on December 17, where she changed her previous not guilty plea to guilty.
Volkswagen driver Brown was fined £369 and had six points added to her licence.
She was also ordered to pay costs of £233.
The offence took place on November 28, 2023.
Another speeding driver, Christopher Joseph Holland, 32, of Moor Road, Collingham, was sentenced on the same day.
On April 20, Holland drove a Volkswagen at 36mph on the B6166 Lincoln Road, Newark, which has a 30mph limit.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence on November 1, but was found guilty.
Holland was fined £60, ordered to pay costs of £324, and had three points added to his licence.
On December 9, Zoe McFarlane, 40, of Orchard Drive, Cotgrave, appeared at the court.
She had previously pleaded guilty to driving at 59mph on the 50mph limited A610 Eastwood Bypass, Kimberley, and appeared for sentencing.
The offence occurred on March 17.
The Fiat driver was fined £72, ordered to pay costs of £28, and had three points added to her licence.
Anton Rayon Robinson, 29, of Draper Close, Radcliffe-on-Trent, appeared before Magistrates’ on December 10.
He pleaded guilty to, at Arnold, failing to give police information relating to the driver of a BMW alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
The offence occurred on or about February 14.
Robinson was fined £560, ordered to pay costs of £524, and had six points added to his licence.
Morgan McCarron, 22, of Woodhouse Place, Tuxford, also appeared on December 10.
He admitted breaching the requirements of a community order by failing to attend appointments on October 18 and 25, without reasonable excuse.
McCarron was ordered to pay costs of £30, and was ordered attend appointments or to take part in rehabilitation activity up to a maximum of three days as required by his responsible officer.
