According to the article Hate Crime Reported As Cyclist Barges Blind Man (Advertiser, September 9) a blind man can’t walk his guide dog around Newark.

The paths are a trip hazard for everybody so why do they not fix them? They waste money painting benches red, why not sort the other areas out of the town?

The man says the town is unfriendly towards dogs and I agree.

The town needs a good shake up.

If you go walk around you have to dodge the cycles, e-scooters and joggers running towards you down the lanes.

Get cameras up on the lanes. Let us feel safe. The council has been given the money so use it in the right places. — J. MOFFAT, Newark.
