Martin Kemp to lead post-race party at Advertiser Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse
Actor and singer Martin Kemp is set to lead the post-race party at this year's Advertiser Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse.
The Spandau Ballet star will perform a ‘pick n mix’ Eighties classics DJ set to close the event.
Thousands of people are expected to attend Ladies Day at the racecourse on Sunday, August 14.
The weather forecast predicting a warm and sunny day, making it perfect for a day at the races.
Ladies Day offers the chance to experience the style, drama, and atmosphere as exciting live horse racing and stunning Ladies Day fashion combine to create a fun-filled day out.
First race on a seven-race card is at 2.10pm and gates open at 11am.
Although the dress code is smart-casual, many use the day to dress up.
And, as an added incentive, there is the chance to win £500 in the Style Award.
Martin Kemp will be on stage immediately after the presentation of the Style Awards after the final race.
Racecourse executive director Mark Clayton said: “We are really looking forward to Martin Kemp adding glitz, to what we are planning to be our biggest and best renewal of Advertiser Ladies Day.
“We are expecting a sell-out, so please book early to avoid the potential disappointment of missing such a big day.”

Martin Kemp is perhaps best known as the bass player with Eighties band Spandau Ballet, who had hits with True, Gold and Through The Barricades.
He went on to have a successful film and television career as an actor, starring in The Krays with his brother, Gary, and as Steve Owen in EastEnders from 1998 to 2002.
Martin Kemp will be on stage from around 6pm to 7.30pm.
