Station move key to new surgery

Patients at Lombard Street surgery, Newark, have been told that if they want the development of the new surgery to go ahead as part of the Potterdyke development they have to support plans to move the town’s bus station to The Wharf.

Only six patients from the surgery attended a public question and answer session about the Potterdyke development at the Aura Business Centre, Manners Road, Newark, on Tuesday.

One, Mrs Janice Hayward of Riverside Road, Newark, asked what would happen if plans to relocate the bus station to The Wharf were rejected.

Development consultant Mr Tim Bradford said: “The policy for this development states that if the Wharf application is refused they have to refuse the Potterdyke development. It could totally stop the development going forward.”
