Record rainfall has been recorded during Storm Babet at an amateur weather station in Nottinghamshire.
Paul Merritt's weather station in Beacon Hill, Newark recorded 67mm of rain on Friday, October 20.
To put that in perspective — June is historically the wettest month on average and Newark normally sees around 72mm of precipitation for that entire period.
The previous Friday, October 13 was also a particularly wet day and while its downpour was not as torrential as the Friday just gone, 27mm was still recorded.

Paul said that so far this month, over 128mm of rain has fallen, setting a monthly record as well for the weather station.
