Met Office issues yellow thunderstorm warning covering Newark




A weather warning has been issued as thunderstorms are forecast.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms from 1pm today (Saturday, September 21) which covers the Newark area.

The Met Office has warned that while some places will remain dry, thunderstorms and heavy showers could cause some disruption.

Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, and some communities might become cut off if roads are flooded.

If there is flooding or lightning strikes, there is a chance of delays on the roads and railways and a risk that homes and businesses could be damaged.
